Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Michele studied graphics arts – in those days it was either commercial art or technical art college courses. After working at a “real job” in operations, customer service and outside sales in the airline industry for the next ten years, she came full circle back to playing with paper. Making note cards was Michele's first way to ‘use up’ a growing collection of washi and origami papers - the washi paper art collages snowballed from there.
All of Michele's work experience contributed to the start of her business, Pomegranate Designs, where work is still fun and rewarding after 20 years. Since a pomegranate has hundreds of seeds, seeds of ideas, Michele likens this to a vast amount of creations.
Inspiration for these art pieces come from extensive travels, the environment, and the effect she wishes to bring into play. How do you feel when you view these pieces? Since choosing art is an emotional and personal process, Michele hopes these designs can fit what you wish to express as a gift to a loved one, in your home décor or as a reflection of yourself. |
